Michael S. Epstein, M.D., F.A.C.G. Chairman

Committed to excellence in pharmaceutical and device research and certification; Dr. Epstein has completed over 100 studies as principle investigator or senior investigator. He has experience in a broad range of pharmaceutical and device products. He has worked on and helped develop the clinical and regulatory pathway from early phase and preclinical testing to post marketing studies. He has worked in smoking cessation, ingestible event markers, pain management and conscious sedation and anesthesia.

He began working in clinical investigations shortly after leaving the Air Force in 1990, where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his development of the armed forces ambulatory surgical capabilities. He has developed medical devices and holds patents for several that have been commercialized. Dr Epstein has a long history with the FDA, serving on several advisory boards over a 12 year span. He has served as advisor to numerous manufactures across the industry in all phases of product development approval. Dr. Epstein is a board certified internist and gastroenterologist.  He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastrointestinal Association.  He has also served a member of the Board of Trustees at Anne Arundel Medical Center, as well as President of the Medical Staff of Anne Arundel Medical Center.


Dr. Aditya Chopra, M.D.

Prince George's Medical Hospital, Residency

Dr. Aditya Chopra graduated from medical school in 1994 and performed his Internship and Residency at Prince George’s Medical Hospital in Maryland. Between 1997 and 1998 was a Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Chopra has been working as a Primary Care Physician in private practice in Annapolis, Maryland since 2001 and has also provided medical service at skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities as well as Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Dr. Chopra provides a wealth of knowledge and interest in the following areas to our research center: Type 2 Diabetes, Cholesterol, Weight Loss, Depression/Anxiety, Seasonal Allergies and many other areas common to primary care medicine. Lisa Madeiros, CRNP

American Academy of Nurse Practicioners

Lisa Medeiros graduated with honors from the University of Maryland at Baltimore with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She continued her education at the University of Maryland and received her Master of Science degree in the Family Nurse Practicioner program. Lisa received her national board certification as a Family Nurse Practicioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practicioners. She has a wide range of interests in all digestive disorders ranging from celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease and swallowing disorders.



In addition to several physicians, Investigative Clinical Research has a highly trained clinical research staff including two nurse practitioners,  one full-time research nurse, and four full-time clinical research coordinators.  As a group, Investigative Clinical Research has over 100 years of clinical research experience.  These professionals provide patients with the very best in care.
